I remember clicking photos of squirrels with the (primitive) click camera as a kid. I used to be so happy with myself thinking I had successfully managed to click a photo without scaring them away. Except I was brought down to earth when the roll was developed and no one (including me) could find them in the photograph. Some photos seemed like I was clicking photos of the ground and some, like there were some stones on the ground. The stones were actually the squirrels!
There were no bounds to my happiness when I clicked this photo.
This has been the wall paper for a long time. :)

I clicked this photograph in Ahmedabad during the heritage walk in the old city. It seems like the dog is posing for a photograph! During the walk I noticed that there was at least one dog sitting outside houses that were locked, as if they were guarding them till the residents returned.

This man's daughter's wedding was decided and he had come to the mandai to do the wedding shopping.
His face speaks about his concern and worries.

58/395
Opposite the Mandai is a row of shops that sell all things required for a puja or havan
The shops are very small and the owners make the most of the space available by displaying all the products outside.
This is how Bright and pretty the shops look at night.
I find the way they make the heaps of turmeric powder (halad)and vermilion powder (kunku) very amusing.

57/395
Mamta and me were at Mandai at 6.30 in the morning to see people open their shops only to wait till 7.30!
So till then we roamed around clicking photographs of random objects and I came back with this.
I have realized that I can never reason why a certain photograph appeals to me except say that "I just like it!"
So here's another I just like it photograph. :-)

Ek cup Chai!

Lost in thought. Man sitting next to his gala
This was a difficult ime for the gala owners as they were losing their customers to the malls and markets in the city.

54/395
This old couple was waiting for a bus opposite Mandai
I like this man's turban and the expressions on their sun burnt faces.

In the following posts I will be putting up photographs I clicked in and around Mahtama Phule Mandai, Pune during my various visits. These women sit in the sun all day making pata warvanta (used for grinding and making pastes) out of stones.
I like the contrast in their clothes and their surroundings.

52/395
This was clicked at Fort Jadhav Gadh in Pune.
Mamta and me had gone there for a vintage car rally and to the museum except it ended up raining heavily.
The rains were so bad that the pandal was completely damaged and the museum was shut down.
After a one and a half hour bus journey and 20 minute walk to Jadhav Gadh I couldn't have come back without anything. I came back with some nice photographs and this is one of them.

51/395
This photograph was clicked when our Institute didn't own studio lighting equipment and a faculty had rented some of it to give the communication design students some idea. I got some shots too.

50/395
I clicked this photograph at Sheesha's, Pune during my first and only visit there.
I think the composition could have been better but i loved the colours and how coloured glass looked through tinted glass! :)

49/395
I always wonder... would this photograph be any special if the crescent moon hadn't been there?!
Its not only the moon but also the colours and the silhouettes of the coconut trees that I like.

48/395
I love Wine glasses (and wine!) and their reflections and shadows.
I think this is my first photograph of a wine glass.

47/395
A night in a Houseboat. That was an experience to remember.

46/395
This photograph was taken during our vacation in Kerala.
I have to admit, I didn't get it right in the first go and with my digital camera there wasn't any scope for using the shutter speed. But still i managed it and I like it!
45/395
This photograph is part of the photography submission for perspective.
I love my camera's macro mode, it captures the textures so well!

44/395
Perfume bottle again! Shadow + Reflection

43/395
This is a photograph of an installation at Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune during their annual festival Fundamentals. The hall was dark and sunlight fell on the bright orange suspended cubes through a window creating interesting shadows and contrasts in color.

That's my mother and sister, Ishita lost in the depths of the ocean.

Cloudy sunset at the beach. :)

40/395
This is how the beaches of Goa look during the monsoon season.
Since its the off season and hardly anyone goes there... the beaches were empty and peaceful.
The next 2-3 posts will have the peaceful Goa in it.

39/395
I clicked this photograph of Anuja's earrings in the second semester for a photography assignment.
This was for translucency and perspective both.

38/395
I took this photo in Munnar, Kerala during one of our family vacations.
The water droplets look so pretty!

37/395
I used to see these pots everyday on the way to the mess.
I don't know how I always end up clicking photos of random objects and then like them too!

Black and White
I tried editing it in photoshop to see if it looked better.
I can't decide. Like both equally.

36/395
By now one might have noticed that i am fond of clicking macro photos and also glass objects.
My dad got back from China yesterday and like always got some perfumes.
I couldn't resist the temptation of clicking some pictures.
Here is one of them.
(Christian Dior's Fahrenheit clicked with my Nikon Coolpix)

35/395
I clicked this at Candies in Bandra.
It had been raining all morning and suddenly the sun was out.
I liked the contrast created by the light and shadow.

34/395
I like to capture textures, coincidentally one of the topics for our first photography assignment too was textures. This photo was one of my submissions. The macro mode in my Nikon Coolpix is quite good... I have gotten some really nice macro shots in it! :)

33/395
Okay... so to make up for the days I missed I will be putting up some of my old photographs along with the new ones. Some were for assignments, some for research, some while travelling to beautiful places, etc.

This photo was for an assignment which was suppose to train our eyes to see compositions like balance, contrast, symmetry etc.! Yeah right! This one was for contrast.
I clicked this photo when our institute's admin block was still under construction. Now its completed and the H.O.D.s sit there but it was a very nice place before, we got quite a lot of good photos there. Anyways... this was clicked using Nikon Coolpix L5 (Digital Compact Camera)
